3V Transaction Services Limited was founded in Dublin in 2004 and the following year launched its innovative 3V Visa Voucher payment product, designed to enable customers to shop online without the need for a credit or debit card. 3V Visa Vouchers are short-term prepaid Visa numbers distributed from in-store terminal networks. 3V is now the leading prepaid payment provider in Ireland.
3V has since expanded its product offering to include online distribution of Visa numbers and a range of gift cards. 3V has also expanded geographically into the UK, Canada and the Netherlands, with a series of other European markets in development. The company is also pioneering the field of mobile payment systems.
The 3V product concept was borne out of the idea of using existing processes (i.e. credit/debit processing networks and existing technological infrastructure such as mobile telephone top-up terminals) to deliver cost efficient, globally acceptable, disposable vouchers that could be used in any Card-Not-Present environment (i.e. Internet, telephone or mail order). 3V offers products utilizing existing worldwide/European EPOS infrastructures.
3V operates new market development on a joint venture basis with local distribution networks and marketing partners and welcomes expressions of interest. 3V also has business lines in bespoke branded gift cards and corporate incentive and reward products.
